Work: I am currently in Milwaukee, WI for school though so now I am currently working for the Milwaukee Art Museum as a gift shop representative. 

What I am doing with my Life: I am a Junior studying art and Graphic Design, possibly considering going for a Certificate in Asian Studies as well at UW-Milwaukee . One day I hope to be a freelance artist/designer and I hope to travel the world and spend a lot of time in Japan, the country of my dreams.

My Favorites:

Books: The Abhorsen Trilogy, the Harry Potter series, Angels and Demons, Memoirs of a Geisha….I’m not gonna lie, I also read a lot of manga too. I like Deathnote, Fruits Basket, Eternal Sabbath, Wolf Guy, Trinity Blood, OHSHC, and even more….

Art: I love art and I am very passionate about it. I could spend hours in art museums and galleries (and believe me, I definitely have), and I enjoy a wide variety of artistic styles. I really love Art Nouveau,Ukiyo-e, Art Deco, Impressionism, Expressionism, Pop Art and even modern manga or graphic novel art…..My favorite artist is Alphonse Mucha followed by Tadanori Yokoo, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Claude Monet, Leonardo Da Vinci, Audrey Kawasaki, Mari Kim, and Charles Dwyer.

Movies: Memoirs of a Geisha, Studio Ghibli films ( My Neighbor Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, etc..), Asian Horror films (Ringu, 1 Missed Call, Rampo Noir, Audition, Marebito, Old boy, etc…), and films like Kill Bill, Inception, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, and Fight Club.

Music: J-Rock (Gackt, Miyavi, Alice Nine, Sid, more…),K-Pop ( 2PM, U-Kiss, WonderGirls, 4Minute, Big Bang, 2ne1), and bands like Franz Ferdinand, MGMT, PAssion Pit, Modest Mouse, the Bravery, Hooray For Earth, Moby, and The Beatles.

Food: I do eat meat. I tried to be a vegetarian for a while and it did not work, I crave steak too much. I really like Fajitas, mangoes, chocolate, raspberries, pasta, and coffee Haagen Dazs. I do not eat seafood, cottage cheese, sour cream, meatloaf, and a bunch of other stuff. I can be a picky eater, unfortunately.

My Dreams: 

1. To Travel: I really want to see the world some more in my lifetime. I have been to Europe and went to Germany, France, England, and Belgium, and I would love to go back and see Italy, Sicily, Greece, Scotland, and Spain. I AM DYING to go to Japan. To me, this is my dream country and its so rich in culture. I get a lot of my inspiration from Japan, and hope to go there someday. I also want to go to South Korea and maybe New Zealand.

2. To be Successful in Art: I wish I could be like DaVinci and be good at so many things at once. However, I am not him, I am me. But maybe, hopefully~ I will make it to the point where I am successful and happy with what I do and can make a living for myself being an illustrator/ designer/ painter or whatever artsy things I decide on doing for a living.
